Job summary
We're excited to offer a Specialty Doctor position in the Community Mental Health Team. Join our compassionate, highly skilled team. This 6-month fixed-term role, resulting from a junior doctor gap, provides flexible scheduling options, which can be discussed with our clinical teams.

Main duties of the job
• This is a full-time Specialty Doctor position in General Adult Community Mental Health Team, with job share options available.
• The team is led by Service Manager and supported by nursing team. The clinical staff includes 3 Consultant Psychiatrists, a GP VTS trainee, and the post holder, who will receive supervision from a Consultant Psychiatrist.
• The role encompasses 10 sessions (7.5 DCC and 2.5 SPA), with a flexible timetable. Duties include attending team meetings, outpatient clinics, community visits, and assisting colleagues with clinical queries within the allocated area. The post holder will have access to shared office space, IT, and administrative support, provided by our dedicated admin and reception team.


Job description
• Manage patient care-related administrative tasks.
• Actively engage in the clinical governance initiatives of the service.
• Contribute to clinical audits within the Trust's quality assurance framework.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive electronic patient records.
• Uphold General Medical Council registration and adhere to professional codes of conduct. Maintain section 12(2) approval under the Mental Health Act when required.
• Participate in annual appraisals.
• Attend and engage in the Trust's academic program, including lectures and seminars as part of the internal CPD program.
• Partake in an annual job plan review with locality managers.
• Adhere to the Trust's established policies, procedures, information governance, standing orders, and financial instructions.
• Collaborate with local managers and professional colleagues to ensure efficient service operations.


Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
• Recognised basic Medical Degree
• Full GMC Registration with license to practice
• 4 years post graduate training since first obtaining registration including adequate experience in the specialty; OR shall have obtained experience and competencies
