Medacs Healthcare is currently looking for a Consultant in Medical or Clinical Oncology to join a large NHS Trust based in South East of England.

Salary scale: £82,096 to £110,683 per annum depending on experience – 10 PA’s
Contract type: permanent or fixed term for 12 months with the possibility of extension

The post holder will join a team of medical and clinical oncologists to take major interests across preferred tumour sites and providing Oncology services across the whole of Kent. The Trust also have a well-established oncology research department, providing the opportunity for the post holder to run and develop clinical trials. They have a large, diverse portfolio of studies and currently have research teams in Breast, Lung, Upper GI and Colorectal, Urology, Gynaecology, Haematology/Lymphoma, Melanoma and Radiotherapy. Their Radiotherapy research team is the biggest dedicated team in Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
There will also be a commitment to participate fully in a Kent wide approach to the delivery of cancer care. This includes attendance at governance meetings, multi-disciplinary team meetings and the practice of cross-referral with other site specialists.

A 10 PA medical oncologist job plan will include these core elements:
- Three standard clinics
- One Flexible clinic (for example, a trial/research clinic)
- Two SPAs
- MDT attendance for the relevant tumour sites and correlating administrative time including chemo prescribing


 Full GMC registration
 Entry on the Specialist Register as a clinical oncologist or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the advisory appointments committee
 Clinical Training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT in specialty.
 Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
 Enthusiasm for developing tumour site specialisation and Cancer Services in Kent.
 Ability to organise and manage
