Biomedical Scientist (Histology)

Full time (37.5 hours per week)

Our Woking laboratory is a busy environment which is continuing to expand its services and offering. We are continuing to introduce new technologies to improve efficiencies. We are looking for an experienced Biomedical Scientist to lead the Histology section of the laboratory, processing histology samples from the hospital as well as non-gynae and gynae cytology specimens. You will be involved in the development of the Histology in Woking, expanding the service to cover specimens from clinics and hospitals in the surrounding area


This role provides an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking for a challenge and would enjoy working in the independent sector where innovation and initiative are valued and rewarded. Some multidisciplinary working will be required and appropriate training will be provided. All team members at Woking will be required to participate in an on call rota (based from home)

The ideal candidate must have:

Full Health Professional Council (HPC) registration

Have at least two year post registration experience in Biomedical Sciences particularly Histology

Have the drive and enthusiasm to develop a service and deliver outstanding customer service

Successful applicants will be required to complete a Criminal Records Disclosure

In line with the requirements of the Asylum & Immigration Act 1996, all applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK. Documented evidence of eligibility will be required from candidates as part of the recruitment process
