This hospital’s commitment is to provide facilities for advanced MRI procedures together with friendly and professional care. The purpose of this role is to oversee the organisation, planning and management of the delivery of a comprehensive and effective MRI service ensuring that the company meets all legislative requirements, including the Infection Control and Health and Safety, along with the development of both the centre and staff within them.


Duties
• Initiating and maintaining clinical and administrative procedures in line with agreed policies and procedures
• Making management and clinical decisions for the MRI Unit on a day to day basis
• Ensuring compliance with MHRA guidance for MR equipment as per local and company guidelines
• To work alongside the Operations Manager in setting and delivering operational budgets – having responsibility as the functional budget holder for the unit
• To provide a high quality imaging service to patients.
• To liaise with staff within the imaging department and maintain the highest standards of patient care and support
• To comply with the Ionising Radiation Regulations and local rules regarding radiation safety as set within the UK
• Organize own workload within MRI and work within own professional scope of practice
• Prioritization of service, dealing with unforeseen circumstances to maintain service maintain accurate patient records to reflect the service provided and meet professional standards, including accurate maintenance and updating of patient records.
• To liaise with the MRI Team, Radiologists and other clinicians / managers to ensure the provision of a professional MRI imaging service to patients in a safe, clinical environment.
• To provide practical assistance (clinical) to multidisciplinary team members, adapting techniques and MR imaging according to circumstances and clinical requirements


Requirements:
• Hold a DCR (R) or BSc in Radiography
• Proven success within a successful and high volume MRI department is essential
• Must be fully accredited to work as a Radiographer in the UK.
• Ideally have 5 year post graduate experience
• Have a strong clinical background, be flexible, have problem solving abilities and tol be commercial and decisive.
• The ability to build relationships at a senior level
