A top cardiology services team requires an experienced Cardiac Catheterisation Technician to join them at this showcase site, arguably the most technically-advanced hospital in the world. Responsibilities:
• Provide specialised technical expertise to at least one area of technical cardiology (echo, pacing, electrophysiology, research & training or staff development).
• Performs highly specialised diagnostic cardiac physiological testing on patients to aid clinical diagnosis without supervision.
• Demonstrate empathy when dealing with patients in distressing conditions.
• Independently interpret results and provides factual reports for highly specialised diagnostic Cardiac investigations.
• Perform necessary adjustments to devices which directly affect patients’ clinical environment.
• Communicate effectively and advise both clinical and non clinical staff regarding outcomes of diagnostic investigations.
• Participate on a roster basis, including on-call, in all areas of technical
cardiology.
• Undertake supervision & training for Clinical staff, Trainee Cardiac Technician’s and other allied health professionals.
• Within their designated area assist in implementing departmental strategies to ensure continuing development of patient-focused services in line with activity targets and the requirements of the Directorate.
• Assist in monitoring and maintaining quality of services within designated section.
• Ensure that individual level of practice is kept up to date.
• Demonstrate active participation in clinical audit and R&D activities.
• Has awareness of future implications for development of current Cardiology
Services.
• Work throughout a number of areas recognising all aspects of infection control measures needed for each specific clinical area.
• Work within a multidiscipline environment abiding to strict regulations regarding radiation and protection from radiation.
• Ensure all appropriate health and safety measures are taken when dealing with patients body fluids.
• To deputise in a designated area within the Diagnostic Cardiac Investigation Unit (ECG Department) rotational.
• To provide experienced and multi-skilled hands-on participation in the complete range of diagnostic cardiac investigations provided by The Cardiothoracic Centre.
• To assist the PCP / CCP* in designated management aspects of the department.

Requirements:
• Competent to perform the complete range of non-invasive & invasive
• diagnostic cardiac investigations
• To work independently in all areas
• Ideally 3 years post basic qualification experience in technical cardiology
• HNC MPPM or BSc Clinical Physiology, or equivalent academic qualification/experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
