Our client is based in North London nearby to transport and amenities. They take lives back from leukemia by providing lifesaving donors for patients in need if a bone marrow transplant.
They are looking for a Search manager to join their team, excellent opportunities and package, including 27 days holiday, pension and health insurance.
Salary £35,028.
35 hrs week
The purpose of this role is to lead a team that is responsible for initiating and progressing unrelated adult donor and cord blood searches of UK and International bone marrow and cord blood (stem cell) registers on behalf of patients both within the UK and overseas. To ensure work is processed to meet seat quality and performance targets and to provide a professional and effective advisory service.
Responsibilities:-
To manage a team of search co-ordinators via the search supervisor, providing on-going support, to review and authorise all search reports issued to transplant centres and overseas registries, to provide recommendations to transplant centres regarding selection of unrelated donor/cord blood unit.
To maintain databases, advise the Histocompatability Laboratories on prospective donor HLA typing requests.
To develop and maintain a system for recording discrepant typing results and to participate actively in the WMDA discrepant typing project.
To oversee the maintenance and updating of standard operating procedures liaising with the Quality Manager.
To participate with regular audits, provide support for the Operations Manager.
MUST have a sound knowledge of the role HLA -Human Leucocyte Antigen- matching in transplantation and familiarity with past and current techniques used for its typing:- up to date knowledge of other factors that influence donor selection for transplantation.
Previous management experience, a high standard of accuracy and numeracy.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and supervisory skills. Accurate keyboard skills. MS Office.
Experience of working in Medical.
Honors degree in Biomedical Sciences or Molecular Biology
State registration as a Biomedical or Clinical Scientist
