Vacancy details Vacancy description:
Job Code : Supported Living/ Housing workers Supported/sheltered/Independant housing, living officers and support workers required for contractual and sessional work in the London and Surrey areas.

We require staff for private charities and statutory services clients to work with people with mental health, learning disabilities, homless and other groups striving to live as independantly as possible, integrating into the community and those is sheltered accomdation

You will need experience of working within these client groups and have a good understanding of service to tenants normally across sheltered schemes:
Visit tenants (that require a visit) in their homes, daily
Assist tenants to live independent lives.

Enable tenants to access appropriate welfare benefits
Assist tenants in case of emergency.

Be aware of developing health problems of tenants, Manage scheme buildings and grounds:

Report maintenance issue.
Keep records and follow up issues.
Manage cleaning and gardening contractors.
Be aware of and deal with health and safely issues/checks in the buildings.
Carry out clerical duties in scheme offices.
Keep daily scheme diary.
Keep and update records of information on each tenant.
Manage use of guest room and laundries
Collecting and accounting for monies, including petty cash.
Regularly test fire alarms, alarm system in tenants flats and lighting
Provide reports on, voids, call outs, serious incident and so on.
Complete housing benefit applications/attendance allowances/council tax.
Assist with rent enquiries.
Assist with scheme budget setting, interview prospective new tenants organise social events, dealing with rent arrears.
Complete needs/risk assessments of prospective tenants, carry out signs ups of new tenants and complete support plans for all tenants.

NOTE: Not all these competatencies apply for all client types but will give an idea of skills required.
