Bundaberg Base Hospital is the District's major referral centre. It provides a broad range of secondary level services in Emergency, Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Intensive Care, Paediatrics and Psychiatry. The hospital has a fully equipped and staff Intensive Care Unit. Surgical operations are undertaken by visiting specialists and staff surgeons with the support of a staff anaesthetist. A full obstetric and gynaecological service is provided and supported by specialist medical and nursing staff.

The city is only 3.5 hours drive north of the state capital, Brisbane, so it is easy to visit the excitement of the big city. The Sunshine Coast is only 1.5 hours drive.

They are currently looking for a new staff member to join their O&G team. The position is not accredited for training, however would be an excellent stepping stone into Australian medical system. The position is supervised by senior medical staff, although a reasonable degree of autonomy is expected. All PHO’s should provide leadership to junior residents working in the same clinical unit.

PGY4 and above, eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Qld; demonstrated skills in O&G, commitment to medical education and ability to teach, advanced level of written and oral communication skills.
